If there's anything more difficult than planning the perfect murder, it's writing the perfect murder-thriller. Deathtrap is that perfect murder mystery written with masterly skill by Ira Levin.
The work -- which ran on Broadway for 1793 performances from 1978 to 1982 – involves a failing mystery-writer who has murderous designs on the promising commercial manuscript by one of his students... but that’s just the beginning.
Character Descriptions:
Sidney Bruhl - Age 40-60. Polished, dashing, and deceptive, used to be a successful playwright, but now struggling
Myra Bruhl – Age 30-50, Sophisticated, upper class and supportive, but has a heart condition
Clifford Anderson - Age 25-35. College-type look, and charming, Knows he is intelligent, but conniving, ambitious to be a successful playwright
Helga Ten Dorp - Age 25-60. Pyschic neighbor; Wild, individual, gypsy-like, but disarming and brave
