Call for Actors: Detail
Description: So... we are looking for some talented folks to bring this very ensemble-reliant holiday piece to hilarious, honest life.
Who we are looking for:
Obviously HELLCAB needs a Cab Driver – a beaten down by life, uniquely ubiquitous everyman who just wants to make through one day and get to the next.
We also are looking for about 6 more bold, committed players who’ll get to play things like: a religious couple, two lawyers, some crack heads, a really creepy dude, some obnoxious New Yorkers, a drunk woman who is REALLY “in the mood,” a racist/sexist jerk, an architect, a woman who just got raped, and a partridge in a pear... okay you get the drift!
25 roles, give or take, played at the speed of Chicago traffic. We need actors who are committed to finding the humor in truth and the truth in humor (sometimes very quickly) … The (hoity toity) Times of London described HELLCAB as a comedy that presents "a portrait of embattled human decency" and "a study of the intricacies of race, poverty and urban desperation." You KNOW you want to be a part of this one.
