Actors' Circle Theatre (ACT), continues their award-winning Shakespeare in the Park series with Shakespeare’s domestic comedy, MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR. Performances will be held at the Depot Square Park, downtown Peterborough NH on Sat and Sun, August 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th at 5pm.
MERRY WIVES tells the tale of Falstaff who attempts to ease his drinking debts by courting and swindling the wives of two local gentlemen, and, by doing so, getting into their husband's wallets. The "Merry Wives" turn out, however, to be more than a match for the over-confident swindler. The timeless tale of the battle of the sexes is set in the early 1950’s.
Admission is FREE. In the event of rain, performances will be held indoors at The Peterborough Historical Society (19 Grove Street, Peterborough NH). www.actorscircle.org
